Another successful internship and I can't wait for the next one! :) I find Zoe's enthusiasm so inspiring and the atmosphere her studio brings really makes me certain of textiles; as well as the amount of hard work that needs to be put in.
I really enjoyed today; sanding handles for her post-war furniture as well as her new wall hanging birds! I felt that this week, I was more part of the making processes of her products which I liked. I don't want the internship to end!
I was also able to help Zoe make up cups of colour that she's already used on her chest of drawers. She ran out of the colours she used, and so I had to do my best to re-make the colour :)
Zoe also showed me her portfolio which has work from her Foundation diploma and university! It was quite funny to see how similar Zoe and I have worked in the idea of our indivdual use of colour and the processes we use a lot throughout our work. For instance, Zoe uses quite a lot of neon colours which I choose a lot more subtle and pastel-like. Zoe produces a lot of print work with little bits of sewing and embroidery whilst I'm the exact opposite!
:D A good day!
