Day 25 and 26 2013 - I'm back!

Hello!

Finally sorted out my blog :) So expect the blog posts to carry on as normal for now :)

Day 25

Today I explored the vintage and posh, high-end parts of London - something which I thoroughly enjoyed and would love to do again!

The day started at 6pm and by quarter past 7, I was sitting in Costa in Canterbury

Nothing like a hot chocolate and warm chocolate twist to start off the day!

London

The first stop of our London Journey was Portobello Market! :D

The World Famous Market in London which is said to be a high attraction for both tourists and Londoners. I absolutely loved being there! So much so that I actually brought a 1950s ox-blood leather suitcase, a sewing machine necklace, as well as bits and bobs for our new uni project - 'Vibrant Vintage'

During our browsing session in Portobello Market, We came across one of Kirstie Alsopp's shops; Kirstie's Vintage Home!

This was a very exciting moment when myself and a couple of friends saw this! However, we sadly didn't get to meet Kirstie Alsopp but never mind .

Our Second stop was on Bond Street, a highly expensive part of London where extremely attractive guys open the doors for you as you enter a shop and all somehow seem to be Italian!

The first thing I noticed was a small chocolate shop with this Macaroon pyramid!

Believe me, it wasn't cheap!
250 Macaroons = just over £1, 000, 000

Anyways, Bond Street was.. interesting and the hot guys in Chanel, Gucci, MaxMara, etc were definitely a highlight! Its definitely on my list of places I would like to go back to; for obvious reasons...

The third stop on our London journey was Somerset House!

We went to Tim Walker's exhibition, a fashion photograher who specialises in child-like, simplistic but really quirky work. I instantly loved the exhibition as the work was very similar to my own textiles/fine art work and style!

The work is so childhood-tale like and soft colours which I really love and inspire from!
If you are also interested in his work, heres a link to his website- http://timwalkerphotography.com/biography.php

After the amazing Tim Walker Exhibition, we also decided to go to Valentino's new exhibition which was good :) I'm not exactly a fashion-y person so it wasn't amazng to me but it was awesome to be able to say that I've been to it.

The exhibition was very good for inspiration of fabric manipulation however, so I did gain something from it :)
If you are a fashion-y person and would also to go to  either the Tim Walker or Valentino, check out the Somerset House website - http://www.somersethouse.org.uk/fashion

Today was such an amazing and eye-opening day for me! especially as I had the idea in my mind that Amsterdam was the place to be for vintage markets and such. Seriously thinking about living in London now...

Day 26

As I have a free weekend, the pergamano class tutor is unfortunately ill so the class has been re-scheduled for next Saturday, I decided to take the time off by birthday shopping in Dover town. Something I haven't done in a while, and thanks to the shopping trip I can access the internet now an write this blog post for you! :)

I also met up with my writer friend, Emily and had a 'Costa Catch-up'! The thing about Emily is, I end up spilling my whole feelings to her and telling her my most precious secrets. I don't know why but she's just very easy to talk to, just like this blog.

However, I don't like speaking about my previous relationship and the feelings I have towards it on here as much... Only because I won't get any advice about it or some sort of reassurance from you. Maybe because of the fact that I want to forget about it, but theres that little bit of hope deep in the back of my mine which I haven't got rid of yet - who knows?

Update

Keeping the business idea on hold for a while and so now only focusing on being the best textile designer I can be through the help of my internships, experiences and, for now, my foundation course at University for the Creative Arts (UCA).

Although I've found the person I've always wanted to be, I'm slowly growing into what I really like and don't. This is something that I want to carry on doing before getting into any relationship.

No potential guys atm!

Loving Life :)
